Well, this is a little late seeing as I got my new camera back in February 2019…. However, I think this blog has so much more to back it up seeing as I’ve had the chance to use my Fujifilm X-T3 in lots of different circumstances and it has lived up to my high expectations.
My Fujifilm X-Pro1 had done all it had could for me and while I was grateful, it was time to have something that would let me take the image I could see in my mind. And then came the X-T3. And I love it. It has been my trusty friend as I travelled to Oman and Mexico in 2019 as well as when staying closer to home.
One of my favourite things is its size. It is compact and light even with a 188-55 mm lens attached. It fits easily into a day bag and doesn’t weigh me down as I explore new cities, climb mountains and lounge at home. Despite its small size, it picks a punch and I have been able to capture clear images of fast moving situations and take street photography subtly.
Overall, I’m very happy with this little friend of mine and I’m looking forward to using it lots more! The only thing is that I find myself in April 2020 sitting at home in London instead of having a photography adventure in Namibia. With this global epidemic ongoing and all travel prohibited I am in a situation that feels very alien to me - being in my house. All day. Every day. I am so grateful that I have my health and I continue to pray for a quick termination of this awful situation. And I am excited for future opportunities to take my camera out. In the meantime I will use that one excursion a day to take a closer look at what is around me, with my little friend in my hand.
